Royalty-Free Stock Photos from Depositphotos

Ever since I started searching for images for blogging and graphic designing, my main concern had been copyrights, intellectual property and permissions to use someone's images online. I had been stuck in a while but googled it and found there are many sites which provide royalty-free images.

One of the best stock-photo companies I came across is Depositphotos.com. I'll explain about their service and my experience later but here's one important thing you should know first hand.

What are royalty-free images?

With reference to StockPhotoGuides.com, Royalty free refers to a type of license that gives you permission to use a stock image in certain ways. Royalty free means you are not required to pay a royalty each time you use an image.

Generally, royalty free images are images that are available under a non-transferable, non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, multiple-use sub-license.

Non-transferable - This means the license is valid for the purchaser only. You cannot transfer the royalty free license to anyone else via resale, gifting, etc.
Non-exclusive - Any royalty free image may be used by as many people as license the image. If you require exclusive use of any stock image, you must purchase it under different license terms.
Perpetual - Perpetual means that you can use the image for as long as you wish. There is no time limit associated with usage of a royalty free image (unless otherwise noted by the licensor).
Worldwide - Royalty free allows you to use the image anywhere in the world.
Multiple use - This refers to use of a royalty free image on packaging and other distribution methods. Most royalty free licenses allow an image to be printed/shown up to a certain number of times (250,000 or more in some cases).

Any company that provides royalty free images will have more detailed usage licenses for their RF images.

After coming across Depositphotos which is one of the top photo companies for high quality royalty-free stock photos and vector images. The website is fairly straight forward and has no big dramas and catchy lines to attract visitors like most companies do by telling qualities about their company on homepage. Depositphotos is one of the best does not need to prove it.

Since, I am interested in a little bit of photography aswell, I would definitely think being a contributor rather than just being a buyer at Depositphotos. With high volume uploads, they have special plans for photographers with lots images to contribute and earn. The earning possibilities are virtually unlimited!

One of the things I am very concerned about companies managing people's money and copyrights must be on legal and legitimate grounds. Depositphotos has a very secure website which means you can be assured that your money doesn't go in wrong hands. Secondly, with a secure site you have assurance of your privacy aswell. Thirdly and the most important Depositphotos is a reliable business and has been rate A- on the Better Business Bureau which is one just short of A+ but one highest on standards of reliability.
