If you need to add content in the template, you would need to log in to your Blogger.com account and add gadgets, posts and stuff.
The above instructions are installing the template on your blog. Thanks :)

You should try the template on a test/fake blog. Backing up your template and widgets and then installing may template may work :)

What I like about the template is the bar that reads "About", "Friends", "Partners", "Pages", "Search". I don't know what this area of the page is called, I will call it "elements".

I would like to use these elements on my current template, since I have it looking pretty much the way I want it to.

Can you tell me what part of the xml code I need to copy and paste into my own template to give me the elements mentioned above?

And, can you instruct me on how to customize the elements so they read what I need?

Volverene Evo said...

To understand the link lists, please download this small text file. It contains small instructions on how to set up link lists on such templates: http://www.box.net/shared/vp4jxpraec

and Here`s the code for the Drop down link list for your blog:

Volverene,

Great instructions. I think I can follow them.

One question... where do I paste the CSS code if I don't have any CSS elements currently in my template? I have widgets, and HTML code. Any advice?

Flamingo Park Neighborhood Association said...

Volverene,

Thanks so much for your help! It is working GREAT!!!

Volverene Evo said...

You Need to Put the CSS code in the beginning lines of your Template Code.
Each Blogger template has XHTML which is a combination of CSS and HTML...So in the beginning lines you`ll #Header-Wrapper, #Header, body {margin...., .Footer, #sidebar
These above tags are used in CSS code. Hope you`ll find them. But don`t paste code in the very beginning of your template code ;)
Thanks :)

When you unzip the file file.

There might be 2-3 text files which contains instructions[You should read them if you`re a beginner]

and the template file has it`s name and has extension [.XML]

Avi,

I'm still working on my template. I have made lots of progress and have all pieces working... except... the "search" function in the link list.

I have the "Search Code" in the template (however, I cannot paste it here because the window will not accept the HTML).

Is there anything more that I need to make it work?

Volverene Evo said...

The code is complete and the search box works perfectly, may be the current template you`re working is not compatible with it. Please let me know about your blog so that I be able to know the problem :)

Whenever I try to upload this template, my blog asks if I wanted to permenantly delete widgets? Do I hit yes or no?

Volverene Evo said...

@LoganTodd: If you think those widgets are nessessary , back up those widgets by copying their code in txt files and saving them on your harddrive and then uploading your new template and deleting thise widgets. When the template is installed, you can add your backed up widgets again :)

i tried to change the header by replacing the picture link, but it went blank. How can I change the header?

Volverene Evo said...

Dear Fadil: The template has been designed to be minimalistic. So it probably might now accept image headers. I`m sorry for this inflexibility :(
